Police investigating arson at Palmerston Lions Heritage Park

PALMERSTON – Police are seeking help from the public to identify the person(s) who set fire to a train car in a local park on the weekend.

On Dec. 14 at about 3pm, police and firefighters responded to a fire inside a wooden rail car at Lions Heritage Park on Main Street East in Palmerston.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.

É«¿Ø´«Ã½County OPP officials have deemed the fire suspicious have started an arson investigation.

The park has reopened the public, OPP media relations constable Matthew Burton told the Advertiser in a Dec. 17 email.

É«¿Ø´«Ã½County OPP’s Major Crime Unit has now taken over the investigation.
